Crowns
Do you have a broken or fractured tooth, root canal treated tooth, or a tooth with a large filling? This tooth may require a crown.
Why would I require a crown?
Crowns are often used for functional (when a tooth is weak due to compromised tooth structure), or cosmetic reasons (to enhance a smile).
A crown is a type of dental restoration which completely caps or encircles a tooth or dental implant. A typical crown on a tooth is beneficial to cover the tooth to restore its shape and size, strength, and improve its appearance.
The tooth is prepared by removing some tooth structure, and a scan of the tooth is then carried out, followed by the sculpting of the crown from a full porcelain block by using our CAD/CAM technology (Computer-Aided Design/Manufacturing).
The crown is made from a block of ceramic/porcelain and fitted shortly after the teeth are re-shaped down. When the crown is on the tooth, it fully encases the entire visible portion of the tooth that lies at and above the gum line. This treatment is carried out in one visit only. This eliminates the need for a second appointment as well as impressions and a temporary crown.
