Cleaning & Polishing

This is the removal of any plaque and calculus around and in between your teeth by an ultrasonic scaler tip.

When should I do this?

Cleaning and polishing should be carried out every 6 months by our oral hygienist to ensure the prevention of gum disease and loss of bone height around your teeth in the future.

Sometimes a deep clean/root plane is needed under local anaesthetic if calculus is extending below the gum and there is visibility of bleeding and swelling gums. Our dental team will assess and advise.
